A New Agenda For A New Age

Taking urgent action around education, health, economic empowerment and
public policy in an effort to build a stronger Black America.
A Message From The Greater Boston Section President

Welcome to the website of the Greater Boston Section of the National Council of Negro Women.  Founded in 1992,

GBS NCNW is one of over 200 community-based non-profit sections chartered in 32 states.  Since inception, members have

worked diligently to fulfill our mission to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their

families and communities. Our service programs promote education, health, economic empowerment

and cultural initiatives. They demonstrate an active pursuit of our National agenda for the 21st century and

uphold the ideals which our National founder, Mary McLeod Bethune, envisioned in 1935.

We invite you to join us as we harness our collective power and influence, to better the lives of individuals,

strengthen families and support our community.

Charlene Greene, President
