You're Invited to Community-Focused COVID Panel Discussion

On Thursday, May 6th at 7 p.m., GBS NCNW is co-sponsoring a discussion featuring a panel of experts on the COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccine rollout and how communities of color are being affected. "Covid-19: from Virus to Vaccine," is sponsored by the Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The virtual event seeks to unpack issues of equity (how the virus has disproportionately affected vulnerable populations), share information about the available vaccines and the rollout in Boston, and detail the importance of getting vaccinated for black and brown communities.

Information will also be provided on how to take action to get vaccinated and how communities of color, LGBTQ+ residents are faring in receiving the vaccine. The panel features Jasmyne E. McCoy, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Pandemic Task Force, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, Stan McLaren, Executive Director of the Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center, Reverend Art Gordon, Senior Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Dr. Oneeka Williams.
